Ryan Gosling plays a wheelman for rent Los Angeles, stunt driving for the film by day and direction of escape vehicles for criminal activity at night. A loner by nature, can not help falling in love driver with his beautiful neighbor, but vulnerable sentenced Irene (Carey Mulligan), a young mother in a dangerous criminal underworld of the return of the ex-husband dragged Standard (Oscar Isaac). Support after a hold-up operation standard pay protection money, out of control, the driver is driving defense for the girl he loves, too little distance of a murderous criminal syndicate (Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman). When the gangsters showed that they say for more money bags in his suitcase, they are just Irene and son-pilot's are forced to take the courses and activities.
