As soon as I heard about the insidious new film, I said "Oh man, this is a must-see." As far as I can remember, I was a fan of the genre. I am not the Freddie / slasher type films Jason or torture / amputation Sicko-film, but tornadoes are really a psychological number on the head.
This is the story of a young family whose older child, Dalton, slipped after a seemingly minor accident at home, in a mysterious coma is that medical science can not explain. Doctors and hospitals are not able to do something for Dalton are forced his parents, the boys back home who have not quite life-but-not-quite-dead, where he is in his room, totally insensitive. spectral entities soon after the House, it seems, but when the family moved into a new house, is the obsession, hence the slogan: ". It is not the house that is haunted" He is little Dalton came as a kind of worldly life, where evil spirits inhabiting his body. Eventually, his grandmother (played by Barbara Hershey) hires a medium that sends the father of the boy later in his research and hopefully a kind of astral projection or out of my body.
Insidious not to disappoint. Although highly derivative, not a bad thing. It has elements of each of my favorite Ghost Stories: The Haunting (haunted house, unexplained noises), The Innocents (possessed child, ghostly apparitions, mysterious tears), other (scary meeting climate), the Kingdom Flatliners (measurements) and Carnival of Souls (Ghoulies pale next to you to do).
Very similar to the previous The Haunting, leaving most insidious warnings on audio, lighting and camera settings. Because, as the tension builds up (as in Paranormal Activity), appears at the sight of a strange face in a window or a sudden loud noise, you can jump from your seat. The beginning of the movie is all about the suggestion, mood and atmosphere, and what can not you see that the elements of the ghost stories are the best.
Special mention for the excellent arrangement. As much as you might want your eyes in anticipation and anxiety to protect by this film you do not want to see some pictures miss a split second freezing.
My only complaint is that the last third or so the movie was almost over-kill. The fear was so inexorably to the conclusion of the story, you barely have time to recover to a terror before another is imposed upon you. Nevertheless, there are some really scary images in this film. I saw many, many films such as (and I read these novels even more) and I feel very tired and afraid, but I'm a little embarrassed to admit that a scene allows especially me crying in the cinemas - a first for me! By the end of the movie, my heart was literally breathtaking. If you want to impress or very prone to nightmares are not seeing this film, but if you really are a fan of a good ghost / haunted house story, do not miss insidious. Must be one of the scariest movies of all time.
