Straw Dogs is a remarkable film! It is a character-driven thriller that builds to an explosive climax. The services are oriented in all areas, and Alexander Skarsgard and James Woods are particularly effective in their roles. The setup is simple: A couple moved to California in the hometown of the woman in the deep south, and they are regularly thwarted by a local group of men. If this movie is really distinguished in its execution. The opening scene sets the tone for the film. You can immediately tell that this film be a matter of survival. Rod Lurie does an excellent job presenting the main characters in a manner clearly defined, and the characterization of the layers, so that the conflict, both internally and externally refers to a deliberate step. He reasons of history and character of the third act is very satisfying, stimulating and won.
